How to Discover Your True Nature 🌿

There’s a story many of us have inherited: that who we are is something to be earned.

That our true self lives somewhere out there, waiting at the end of a career path, in raising a family or having a highly disciplined spiritual practice. We’re taught to chase it, shape it, work for it, but the truth is much simpler.

Your true nature isn’t something you discover, it’s something you remember.

It’s the pulse that has always been underneath the noise. It’s the part of you that breathes deeper around trees, that sighs in relief when you stop trying so hard.

I've discovered time and time again that the journey back to your true self is not linear and it’s rarely tidy. It means gently letting go of old roles. The good girl. The achiever. The strong one. The one who keeps it all together.

At times in my life I've found it hard to love this one underneath. She goes against the social script and feels unfamiliar at first. But with enough nurturing I've found that she is truer than anything we've been told to be and brings more gifts into our lives than we could imagine.

What Does It REALLY Mean To Be A Wild Woman?

What Does It REALLY Mean To Be A Wild Woman?

What does it mean to be a wild woman?

Wider society paints the image that when a woman is in her wildness she is feral, erratic and dangerous. A person of too much emotion and too little control.

When we take one step closer to the truth, we find a caricature of a woman howling at the moon, bedecked with crystals or bear foot in a forest with flowers in her hair wearing a boho dress.

But really…that’s surface wild, lovely, sure, but safe. Digestible. Pretty.

To be wild, truly wild, is to remember something old. Something deep in our bones.

It's the part of us that never forgot the shape of freedom, even after years of being told to sit down and be nice.

It's the part that aches when the sky bruises at dusk and the wind carries our names in a language we don’t quite know how to speak anymore, but our body remembers.

Sometimes she’s rage, pure and clean like a fire that burns away the bullsh*t.

Sometimes she’s quiet. Soft. Holding the thread of something sacred while the world spins too fast.

She lives under layers.
Under conditioning.
She waits beneath the masks. Beneath the smile we put on when our heart is breaking. Beneath the apology in our voice when we take up too much space.

She doesn’t need the forest to be wild — though she loves it.
She doesn’t need crystals or ceremonies — though she might use them, too.

Really, she just needs us.

To stop pretending.

To come home.

To remember.

How to Find Your Way Back to the Wild

You don’t need an exotic location.
You don’t need to take a sabbatical from work or someone to have your kids for the week.
You just need a crack in the surface. A breath. A yes.

Here are some doorways.

Lie on the Earth

Not sit. Not stand. Lie.
Flat on your back, belly to sky, or face-down with your cheek in the grass. Let the ground hold you. Let the thinking drop.Feel the thrum beneath the surface. Pulsing slow, ancient, steady.
This is where you remember you belong.

Sing When No One’s Listening

Not for performance. For medicine.
Hum. Moan. Wail. Let the sound rise from your bones instead of your throat. The wild woman doesn’t care about key or tune.
She cares that your truth gets voiced.

Make Something With Your Hands

Bread. A painting. A badly-shaped clay bowl.
You don’t need talent. You need texture.
Let your fingers remember the way creation feels when it’s messy, imperfect, real.

Rage Without Apology

Scream into a pillow. Throw stones into a river.
Write fury on paper and burn it. Anger is sacred when it’s clean.
Let it move through you like weather. Wild women don’t bottle storms.

Be Still Long Enough to Hear the Yes

Under all the shoulds and musts and not-enoughs,
there’s a deep knowing. A quiet yes. It might take a while to hear it.
That’s okay. Stillness is a radical act.

Find Your People

There’s this myth that to be wild is to be alone. But the truth?

The wild woman needs her tribe.

She needs mirrors who won’t flinch. Circles where masks drop and belly laughter shakes. Spaces where silence is sacred, tears are holy, and no one is trying to fix anyone.

She needs to be witnessed in her becoming. To bring her mess, her magic, her medicine—and have it received.

Because wildness isn’t about going it alone.
It’s about coming home to who we are together.

The village is calling.

Let’s meet there.

The Women’s Fire was created for this! It is a gathering for wild-hearted women to sit together, speak truth and remember who we are beneath the noise. If you’ve been craving soul-deep connection, this is your invitation to come find your tribe.

You don’t have to become wild overnight.
You just have to remember you're not broken. You're braided with wilderness.

Every moonlit evening, every solo dance in living room, every gut-feeling followed is a breadcrumb back to yourself.

With much love,

Faye and the True Nature Team 🌿

The Shadow Side of the Summer Solstice

The Shadow Side of the Summer Solstice

Did you know that on the day of the Summer Solstice our shadows are the shortest they’ll be all year?

That little fact got me thinking about our relationship with shadows. And by shadow, I mean the parts of ourselves we tend to reject or hide. Those parts that don't make it into an IG reel.

For a long time, I met the solstice with heaviness, focusing only on the return of the dark. I resisted slowing down and believed my worth depended on how much I could shine, produce, and keep going.

All. The. Time.

But here’s what I’ve come to understand: the Summer Solstice mirrors the peak moment in many natural cycles. It’s like midday in the daily rhythm, the full moon in the lunar cycle, ovulation in the menstrual cycle, adolescence in the life cycle, and a flower in full bloom.

It’s big energy. Expansive. Buzzing. Ripe with potential.

And it's exactly the time when we  learn to find our NO so that we can find our YES and honour our agreements with integrity.

Dancing Red Shoes

Over the past week, I’ve been revisiting the chapter of The Red Shoes from Women Who Run With the Wolves, in preparation for our Summer Solstice Ceremony

In the story, a young woman becomes obsessed with a pair of shiny red shoes. When she puts them on, she begins to dance. And can’t stop.

At first it’s thrilling, intoxicating. But soon the shoes take over. She dances through pain, through exhaustion, through shame, unable to stop even when she desperately wants to. The shoes must be cut off before she can return to herself.

It’s a haunting myth.

There are many things we can be ‘danced by’ and in our culture this can often look like busyness and productivity. To keep going, saying yes, reaching higher, shining harder.

But if we aren’t careful, we start to lose track of our own rhythm. Our own enoughness.

This is the power of owning our boundaries: learning when to stop, when to rest, when to say no. Not because we’re shrinking, but because we’re choosing to stay rooted.

Ways To Do This

Here's a few ideas of how we take this out of the abstract of a fairy tale and into our daily, real life.

Pause Before We Say Yes

In moments of excitement or high energy (like solstice season), let’s pause before agreeing to new commitments. We can ask ourselves: Is this truly aligned? Or are we saying yes out of habit, pressure, or fear of missing out?

This helps us honour our inner rhythm, not just external expectations.

Take Off the Metaphorical Red Shoes

We can ask ourselves: Where are we dancing too hard? What’s running us instead of us running it?
Then, consciously stop doing one thing that’s leaving us exhausted or disconnected, even if just for a day.

Let’s allow ourselves not to perform.

Ground Our Yes with Integrity

Before committing to new projects, social events, or creative bursts, let’s ask: What do we need in place to show up fully?

This practice turns our YES into a choice rooted in integrity, not obligation.

Hold a Simple Solstice Fire or Candle Ritual

Together, we can light a candle or small fire and name the things we’re choosing to release—habits of overdoing, perfectionism, people-pleasing, self-criticism.

Then name what we’re calling in: clarity, rest, rootedness, discernment.

Join For Our Summer Solstice Ceremony

Honouring boundaries, remembering your power & standing in your fullness

If you feel drawn to connect with other women and honour this meaningful moment of the year, we invite you to join us for an intimate and transformative gathering.

In this ceremony, we’ll explore the powerful myth of The Red Shoes as a mirror for our own stories of movement, boundaries, and reclaiming control.

Together, we’ll create space for a collective tarot reading with Marie Bapt, release our deepest fears through a symbolic burning ritual, and share openly about what’s been holding us back from stepping fully into our power.

As the sun reaches its peak and shadows grow short, let’s remember that true magic comes from honouring both our light and shadow. The Summer Solstice invites us to be mindful of where we focus our energy. And when we need to rest.

Saying no isn’t shrinking; it’s making space for a wholehearted yes that supports our wellbeing and growth.

May this Solstice be a reminder to show up rooted and fully present.

With much love and fire,

Faye and the True Nature Team 🌿

Seeds of Change: Cultivating Intentional Growth This Spring Equinox

The warmth of the spring sun on my skin is making me feel so alive right now.

How is it making you feel?

For me, the extra light is stirring something deep in my bones—a restless, primal urge to move, create, and stretch toward the sun. It’s as though the earth itself is calling me out of hibernation, asking me to be more deliberate with my energy.

As the Spring Equinox arrives, the earth tips into a rare and fleeting state of perfect balance, equal day and night. It’s a threshold moment, where light and shadow hold each other tenderly before the sun begins its steady climb into longer, brighter days.

But this time isn’t just about one day, it’s about the six weeks that follow.

This is a potent window for transformation—both in the outer world and within yourself.

Just as seeds break open beneath the soil, we are being asked to crack through old shells, the ones that kept us safe during the darker months, to make space for new life.

International Women's Day 2025

Happy International Women’s Day!

This day always makes me pause and reflect—not just on the incredible strength of the women around me, but also on the long road ahead. I recently learned that at the current rate of progress, it could take 133 years—roughly five generations—to achieve full gender parity. That thought is both staggering and unacceptable.

That number can feel overwhelming, just like so many challenges we face today. But then I think back to the blatant misogyny in the films many of us grew up watching—things that were once considered normal but would never be acceptable today—and it gives me hope.

Change IS happening. We ARE making progress. And we CAN accelerate it.

At the heart of True Nature, we dream of a world where women are seen, held, and celebrated in their full, untamed power. Where we lift each other up instead of competing. Where we reconnect with ourselves, each other, and the Earth.

This year, I invite you to step forward with us.

Whether it’s advocating for fair pay, supporting women-led businesses, or mentoring the next generation, every effort matters.

The International Women's Day website has even more ways to get involved—you can explore them here.

Reclaiming the Wild Woman: The Rise of the Sacred Feminine

With so much uncertainty in the world, the wisdom of the feminine is calling to be remembered and reclaimed.

Do you feel it?

For centuries, the feminine—the deep, intuitive, cyclical, earth-connected way of being—has been pushed to the edges, dismissed as “soft,” “irrational,” or “unimportant.” But the world is aching for its return.

Women are gathering in circles, reconnecting with nature, reclaiming their voices and their bodies. This isn’t just a trend. It’s not like picking up knitting or trying a new fitness class (though those are valuable too).

This is deep, ancient, and essential.

It’s about remembering who we are—beyond conditioning, beyond productivity, beyond expectations.

When women come together, something powerful happens. We soften and strengthen at the same time. We listen—not just to each other, but to something deeper. We awaken the wisdom that has always lived in our bones.

And this isn’t just for us—it’s for the world.

Awaken Your Souls Deepest Cravings

Where do you turn during your toughest times and darkest soul journeys?

In my life, I find myself returning to the work of Clarissa Pinkola Estes

Her book Women Who Run With The Wolves set me on the path of discovering my inner wild and wise woman. Amidst a current life challenge, I've turned to this healing wisdom once again and wanted to share one of my favourite quotes:

Oh la! A woman may crave to be near water, or be belly down, her face in the earth, smelling that wild smell. She may have to trek into the hills, leaping from rock to rock trying out her voice against the mountain.
